Day 26 Week 4 of “The Final Push: Fit 4 2013” Challenge
Reaching our fitness goals has never been about finding the SECRET MAGIC FORMULA; it’s not about getting the newest proven weight loss gadget or waiting to have more time in life. Instead, it’s about stepping forwards and taking what’s yours to take, making things happen, day after day, going for what you want, what you believe in. You can have all of the newest gadgets, supplements, personal trainers, etc. but without inner strength & determination, all of that outer stimulus becomes worthless.
A more promising path to lasting results is daily PERSEVERANCE & COMMITMENT. I’m not suggesting that you become obsessed in order to succeed, but you do need to make it a priority in your life and learn how to depend on your own self from time to time.
When we constantly look outside for answers, we lose our INNER POWER. It really doesn’t take much to get in the best shape of your life; all you need is your body and your mind. The weight loss and fitness industry is constantly trying to persuade you otherwise, but it’s quite easy to figure out (simply by having a look at the health and obesity statistics out there) that their promises are not the true key to success.
I’m not suggesting that getting a personal trainer would not be useful, of course it can point you in the right direction and help you reach your goals with practical advice and additional motivation, but I’ve realized over the years that many folks tend to put ALL of their hopes and expectations into the hands of other people, this is something you definitely want to avoid!
Here are some alternatives that can save you big bucks while getting you REAL RESULTS:
Swap THIS for THAT!
- Protein bar >> A handful of nuts or an apple topped with natural nut butter
- New Gym membership >> Gymboss interval timer
- Personal Trainer >> Online workouts (Youtube videos and fitness websites) and the advice of someone who has already reached the goal you are aiming for
- Elliptical machine >> Jump rope
The bonus of daily commitment and not falling into the “I NEED this or that to succeed” trap is that in addition to reaching your goals you also learn how to depend on yourself while your mind gets stronger. Every time you succeed at completing a task you develop your inner confidence and willpower, you become smarter, more efficient and ready to take up new and more challenging goals!
