“Being healthy is a way of life. It’s not just about what you feed your body; it’s about what you feed your mind.”
When you have a happy outlook on life, everything changes. You release endorphins, which we know makes you feel oh-so-good. It increases your energy level, boosts your self-esteem, allows you to be open to opportunities, and can boost your level of productivity.
The act of exercising, eating healthy, and positive thinking will stimulate endorphin production. So how do we stay motivated to do all of the above? We change our perspective.
Our reality is created by the lens in which we see it through.
All of us are experiencing a different reality because we see life through different eyes. The best way to live a healthy life and make it sustainable is to stay positive. Of course, it’s easier said than done. I’ve gone through depression, post-traumatic stress, and tragedy, so I know what it feels like to be in the dark place of your life. I understand it’s not easy to stay positive when everything in your life is going wrong, especially when it is one thing after another. What I know for sure though, is that the only way to break the cycle is to change your thoughts.
Here are a few things you can do to help change your perspective to see life through a positive light!
Remember to Breathe
Sometimes we just need to take a breath. We take breathing for granted, because we don’t have to think about doing it but taking a conscious breath can do wonders for your state of mind. Right now, take a deep breath. Inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth. Slowly. That breath of air is called life. This is your life you deserve to live a healthy and happy one!
Focus On Something You’re Passionate About
Focusing on your passion helps you stay motivated to keep going, and sometimes that’s the only motivation we really need.
Give Back
Giving back gives you purpose in life. It helps you see that YOU matter and that YOU can make a difference in others lives and in the world. By volunteering your time to help the less fortunate, you feel better about yourself.
Meditate
Shutting off your thoughts and all of your stressors in life can have huge benefits to helping keep your mind and body healthy. Meditation comes in all forms too, if sitting in silence for 20 minutes doesn’t work for you, you can go on a silent walk, sit on the beach and just listen to the waves, or do breath work. Find what works for you!
Be Patient
Know that everything in life happens when it is supposed to happen. I used to always make myself crazy thinking I should be more successful than I currently am. I used to compare my success to other people my age and question why I wasn’t there yet. I realized that if that post did go viral or I received that call to be on Ellen DeGeneres, I wouldn’t be ready yet. Having patience with yourself is key to keeping a healthy mind. Know that everything you desire in your life will manifest, but it will manifest at the right time, not on your time.
“You are worthy of living a life you love!”
The best advice I can give you is to tell you that you are worthy of living a life you love. Focus on all the good things in your life and work hard to see the bright side of every situation. Know that the hardest times in our lives create the miracles in our future. Where there is darkness, there is light.
